Description –
My mother was bleeding from her anus profusely, and throwing up which resulted in her collapsing at home . We ended up calling the ambulance and she was admitted to the hospital. She was ihaving severe stomach pain as well and very weak , due to the bleeding and throwing up .

The hospital executed a multitude of blood test , culture test, CT scan, stool test etc . During my mother’s time in emerncy area , she was constantly bleeding from her anus and soiled herself multiple times. The nurses and attendants at the emergency area were great, they were helpful and attended to all her needs . She was given a slew of medication in the emergency area via IV , but the bleeding from the anus, stomach pain and throwing up would not stop

Oct 24She was moved to the 9 TH FLOOR east section and that’s where all the issues started –

-Oct 24 we were not advised that no visitors were allowed in that section, so I (son) went to the car to grab her a hoody as she was cold and when I went to the 9th floor east section to give it to her was confronted by a very rude and arrogant nurse who started yelling at me and telling me I am not allowed to be here . I advised her that I am only here to give her the hoody as she is cold. The nurse advised me to the throw the hoody on the ground and she would give to my mother. This particular nurse had major grey hair and seemed like the one in charge . This nurse kept yelling at me to get out andbthrow the hoody on the floor . However there was a nice Philippine nurse who came to me and apologized on the behalf of the other senior nurse and said don’t throw the hoody on the floor and that she would take it and give it to my mum . Myself and my dad left at this point as the grey haired nurse indicated we could not be there .

– Oct 24 th My mum spent the night there on her own there over night . The IV bag was leaking and the liquid was dropping on the bed and floor and my mother kept pressing for the nurse and no one came for hours.

– The grey haired nurse came around 12 midnight and yelled at my why are you pressing the bell and that she is busy . My mum advised her of the leaking IV and she changed it .

– Around 1 am my mother kept pressing for the nurse as she had to go to the bathroom but the IV was connected to the wall and nobody came to assist her and she ended up soiling herself with blood and feces . She kept pressing the button and finally the grey haired nurse arrived around 4 am and said that she is very busy and she is turning the notification off. My mom told her that she soiled herself and needed help as she bled on the bed from her anus and was laying there for hours . The nurse said too bad .

-. Around 5 am my mum had to go to the bathroom , but instead they bought the portable potty for her in order for them to test the feces. She kept calling for help mtiple times to get out of bed as she is so weak and bleeding , nobody arrived and she made it to the portable potty , but her feces and blood ended up in the potty bag and on the floor as well . She kept pressing the button again over and over and the same grey haired nurse came and said , she would change the bad and clean it when she gets time and left . She came back 3 hours later and my mum laid there in the smell , blood and feces for another 3 hours.

-when finally the grey haired nurse came in the morning , she told my mum ,you are a difficult patient constantly pressing for help .my mum said she is bleeding from her anus with severe stomach pain and she needs help . The nurse stated that not every patient can get help and she needs to deal with it. My mom was very hurt , in pain and wad treated very poorly .

-OCT 25 when mom was served lunch,. nobody inquired about her dietary requirements or restrictions. She was provided beef pie. She had no idea it was beef she had three bites and realized it was beef and that severely hurt our religious sentiments . This was right on Diwali where by my mother was served beef and this hurt her religious beliefs and sentiments. We have never eaten beef and consider cow as sacred as have God’s associated with it. My mom took a picture of it as well. We were shocked that my mother was served beef and she ate it unknowingly , and how this has effected her emotionally and affected all of us from a religios perspective.

-Oct 26 th she was released . I did speak to a manager at the hospital via phone and reiterated what my mother encountered.
