I was verbally attacked repeatedly by a nurse in the operating room, while I was on the table being prepped for surgery, because I was from another country. The other surgical staff laughed nervously at first then started hushing her down. I wondered if she might not do her job as well due to her hostility. I contacted the hospital and they don’t seem interested in apologizing or investigating the offense. This was my first time in a Canadian hospital and I’ll always be nervous about being attacked from now on.
