NURSE/ FOOTHILLS HOSPITAL/CALGARY
I CAME IN DECEMBER FOR SOME STITCHES, AND
RECEIVED EXCELLENT CARE FROM BOTH THE DOCTOR
AND THE ASSISTING NURSE. HOWEVER, SHE HAD
AMPLE TIME TO DISCUSS THE AFTER TREATMENT OF
THE SITUATION, WHILE WE WERE STILL IN THE
HOSPITAL. BUT SHE CHOSE, INSTEAD TO SAY SHE
WOULD WALK OUT WITH ME TO THE FRONT OF THE
HOSPITAL, AND THEN STOOD AT THE DOOR, REALLY NOT GIVING ME A CHANCE TO TALK. I WANTED TO
TELL HER THAT WE DID NOT NEED TO BE OUT ON
THE STREET AT THE DOOR OF THE HOSPITAL, DICUSSING THE CARE OF THE STITCHES I HAD RECEIVED ON MY REAR END. I FELT IT WAS
RATHER A WEIRD PLACE FOR HER TO DICUSS MY
ARTER CARE. ALSO, I KNEW I WAS GOING TO GET
A CAB BACK HOME, AND SHE KEPT LOOKING FOR
ONE AND RUSHING ME IN, SAYING ON THERE IS A
CAB NOW, AND YOU HAD BETTER HURRY UP AND GET IN IT. MY CARE WAS GOOD, BUT THERE IS A TIME
AND PLACE TO DISCUSS A PATIENTS MATTERS, AND
I THINK – THE PLACE TO TALK, IS NOT AT THE
FRONT DOOR OF THE HOSPITAL, OUT ON THE STREET. SHE HAD AMPLE TIME TO TELL ME, WHILE
I WAS DONE RECEIVING THE STITCHES. SOMETIMES THE FEMALE STAFF THERE, I FIND ARE
VERY RUDE AND CONDESCENING. AND INSIST THAT
YOU DO AS THEY SAY, AS THOUGH YOU HAVE NO OPINION OR MIND OF YOUR OWN.
