Markham/Stouffville Hospital
I went to the emergency department of your hospital on May 20, 2013 at about 10:00PM.
The reason I went was that my throat was hurting/burning. I was attended by Dr. Philip Moran. In addition to my throat problem, I also advised him that I have a thyroid condition which I don’t know if it is related to my throat.
Dr. Moran did not examine my throat, nor any part of my body. He just told me that emergency does not treat thyroid condition and advised me to go home.
I told him I was in pain, and my throat hurt and need treatment, but he told me to leave even though I beg him to help me.
I went home hurting and crying, and I suffered all night. The next day, I went to see a qualified health care practitioner. He examined my throat for 30 seconds and told me it was burn by acid. He properly treated me and my life is back to normal.
I would like to formally file a complaint against Dr. Philip Moran for failing to examine me and provide me with proper health care which is guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights.
I am still in shock that I was denial basic health care which infringes my rights as a human being. Canadians regard the denial of basic health care as unjust. We all have a right to health care.
