I came in yesterday with severe back pain that radiates from one hip to the other. to the point I cannot walk from my kitchen to my bedroom with out being in extreme pain. My family doctor said if it gets bad go to hospital at least they can do imaging there and blood work all in same place. I went yesterday morning, The Doctor pushed on my legs a bit and my hips gave me torodol and sent me home. I told them that I dont think its my back and they said oh its pain radiating thats all and then she said its not my job to order images. Umm I thought that was the doctors job. They didnt do any xrays MRI not even blood work.
Then I was there with my uncle last night, he has stage 4 lung cancer and hes having alot of chest pain when he lays down and while sitting. and it seems to be every night. They did blood work, gave him morphine and gravol after I gave them a list of meds he is on which includes 2mg hydromorphone every 2 hours, 12.5 mg of methedone twice a day and he takes lorazepam 3 times a day and takes olanzepine for nausea. Then over night they did a chest CT and then discharged him this morning with a prescription for Perks. So they wanted to add perks to the methedone and hyromorphone he is already on rather than maybe adjust the dose of the opioids he is already on. The doctor refused to come talk to me. and Then the charge nurse who has no idea about his case said to me that he doesnt have to fill the script if he doesnt want to. he shouldnt have been given it to begin with and they didnt figure out anything about what can help him at night and why he keeps feeling this way. apparently with stage 4 lung cancer all his scans came back clear which I dont believe. Its no wonder this Hospital has a 2 star rating. the doctors dont give a crap about their patients, they dont bother to look at their charts or take into consideration meds the person is already on. they tried to over dose my uncle. I am appalled at the lack of empathy from the doctors here, not even the nurses. the nurses seemed great except the one he had last night who basically ignored all my questions with a nod.
I had the same issue with my ex about 5 years ago. I brought him in because he had bad chemical burn on both knees, yes he was an addict and lived on the streets, but all your doctors did was wrap his knees and send him back to the shelter. The next day I took him to etobicoke general. He had infections in both his knees and needed skin graphs done on both knees. But brampton civic wrapped his knees and sent him back to the shelter with no care, why , because he was homeless, because he was an addict, he is still a person who needed help and who could have died from the infection. I will go anywhere else but Brampton civic from now on. Your hospital kills people. doesnt care about anyone and trys to overdose people because they couldnt be bothered to do their research on their patient. Your hospital is a joke
